  • Responsibilities

    AAA Life is seeking a Systems Engineer that will be responsible for the overall management, design, administration and maintenance of the AAA Life Windows and Linux RedHat infrastructure.  This role also analyzes and resolves Microsoft and Linux systems issues timely and accurately, supporting user needs where required. 

    • Install, configure, maintain, support and optimize all Microsoft systems and services, such as Active Directory, SCCM, Exchange, WSUS, SharePoint, Office 365, etc.
    • Ensures the appropriate devices and processes are in place to support the organization’s enterprise Microsoft and Linux networking environment.
    • Manage the overall security of the Windows and Linux environment to ensure intrusion prevention systems are working properly.
    • Proactively analyze and monitor the Microsoft and Linux environment to be aware of outages, interruptions, improvements, or intrusions.
    • Performs periodic reviews of the Microsoft and Linux systems and environment and ensures adherence to corporate standards. .
    • Identifies deficiencies in the Microsoft and Linux systems, determines the appropriate resolution, and implements them in a timely manner.
    • Identifies opportunities for optimizing the Microsoft and Linux systems, and works toward implementing continuous process improvements.
    • Resolves Help Desk tickets related to areas of assigned responsibility. Uses advanced problem analysis skills to isolate and identify user problems, including issues escalated from other staff.
    • Maintains up to date, clear and concise documentation representative of the Microsoft and Linux systems.
    • Collaborates with team members to develop and test Disaster Recovery plans and associated run books.
    • Actively participates in project meetings and provides input to design and implementation of Microsoft and Linux system solutions. 
    • Follows company Change Management processes for the implementation of changes in the Production network environment.
    • Facilitates multiple high priority projects, tasks, and initiatives simultaneously while also effectively prioritizing work.
    • Perform support and maintenance to the production Microsoft systems, including on-call support outside of “normal” working hours.
    • Willingness to work overtime, weekends and irregular hours.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • 5 years of experience 
    • Experience with enterprise networks and virtual servers.
    • Strong working knowledge with installation, configuration, and administration of common Open Source tools.
    • Strong hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft Systems Active Directory 2012 and higher, Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM and Office 365.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft and Linux performance analysis tools, monitors and practices for proactively managing the enterprise environment.
    • Ability to work with a GUI (Windows, X Windows, Gnome, KDE, etc) or CLI (BASH, Command Prompt, PowerShell, etc.) required.
    • Experience interacting with senior level application programmers and associated programming technologies and diagnose technical issues at all OSI layers.
    • Experience installing and supporting Microsoft and Linux systems hosted in both virtual and physical platforms.
    • RHCSA, MCSA or MCSE certification required.
    • Knowledge of networking systems, e-business, internet/intranet technologies.
