Job description: Senior Contract Specialist (Onsite – Andrews Air Force Base, MD)
Clearance Required: Active Secret
Overview
We are seeking two experienced Senior Contract Specialists to support the 316th Contracting Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base. These roles require cradle-to-grave acquisition support, including pre-award, award, and post-award contracting activities in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and agency policies.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical acquisition and contracting functions in a high-impact DoD environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full-spectrum acquisition support including market research, solicitation, evaluation, award, administration, and closeout
- Assist with acquisition strategy planning and documentation development (RFPs, SOWs, PWSs)
- Support source selection using LPTA, Best Value Trade-Off, and other procurement methods
- Draft acquisition artifacts such as ASP briefings, acquisition plans, and contract clearance documents
- Participate in Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) and liaise with Mission Partners
- Conduct price and cost analysis in support of procurement decisions
- Maintain compliant contract files and document repositories
- Deliver status briefings to government officials and maintain contract trackers (MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Facilitate COR appointments, training coordination, and performance tracking
- Support training delivery and acquisition education briefings to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret Clearance (at time of hire and maintained throughout)
- Minimum of 7 years of DoD contracting experience, including operational contracting for services, commodities, or construction
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and DAFFARS
- Demonstrated experience in source selection procedures and cradle-to-grave acquisition lifecycle
- Bachelor’s Degree with 24 business credit hours from an accredited institution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- FAC-C, DAWIA Contracting Professional Certification, or CPCM (NCMA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Air Force or other DoD agencies in a contracting role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively in a team-based government environment
Work Schedule & Environment
Onsite at Andrews Air Force Base, Monday through Friday
Core hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (+/- 1.5 hour flex)
Federal holidays off; occasional need to adjust based on mission needs
