Job Description

ABOUT YOU:

• A senior-level engineer who knows Python. If you don't know Python, you know another object-oriented language and you've worked with Python (e.g., you know what a list comprehension is, and you know how a decorator works).
• You've worked on deployments that are run on Django systems.
• You know what URL routing is, you've built views, and you know what an ORM is. You understand SQL, but you don’t sling it daily.
• You have experience mentoring and leading a team of developers.
• You have enterprise-wide experience and are responsible for the quality of code. You are a leader and take ownership of platforms.
• You're comfortable building web pages using Bootstrap, jQuery, and Vuejs. You’re not UX/UI but you know enough HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build a decent looking page with some client-side behavior. But you're better in the backend.
• You understand the web stack, what the request-response cycle is, what a POST and a PUT are, and what the pitfalls of a 301 are. And you know what F12 does in a browser.
• You've written code that uses a RESTful API. You know how to use the Python requests library to consume an API.
• You’ve built an API endpoint or two, possibly with the Django Rest Framework.

Variety of systems running Linux and Windows. Run them on AWS. Developers choose their development environments. Desktops are Ubuntu and Windows.
