    Job Description

    Systems Administrators play an integral role in maintaining stable, high-availability production and development environments. This position centers on effectively serving the nationwide user base of our unique publishing systems. Like all our technical specialists, Systems Administrators work in a fast-paced, advanced-technology environment, prioritize effectively and manage numerous tasks. Successful candidates will be able to think analytically, plan and execute routine tasks, respond to unexpected issues and technical requirements, and work effectively with colleagues, developers and senior executives. In addition to assisting employees and customers, System Administrators also ensure the confidentiality of our customers’ data and protected health information. INDUSTRY: This position is part of our Administration division, which supports multiple operating divisions that serve a nationwide customer base in industries ranging from residential communities to the financial industry to the medical field. RESPONSIBILITIES: Our Systems Administrators are responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of sophisticated, enterprise-level technical equipment and software as well as ensuring security policies and standards are met across our company and its workplaces. Other key responsibilities include:

    • Installing, monitoring and maintaining both physical and virtual servers
    • Performing Tier 2 technical support
    • Administering user management
    • Coordinating with software development team as needed
    • Monitoring and administering backup and replication
    • Maintaining domains
    • Ensuring data security
    • Other projects as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of systems/network administration or network security experience and desktop support is required. EDUCATION: A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, network administration, MIS or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. MCSA or MCSE is preferred but not required. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: Candidates must exhibit exceptional, analytical, organizational and time-management skills. Other relevant attributes include:

    TECHNICAL SKILLS: Candidates must have strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft-based operating systems, expertise in virtualization technologies, and knowledge of core software application, including the following:

    • Microsoft Exchange Server
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Database (RDMS) server software
    • Antivirus software
    • Web servers
    • Application servers
    • Virtual storage devices
    • Routing and switching technologies
    • Backup and restore systems
