    Job Title: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

    Location: CITY OF COMMERCE, CA

    Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Mon-Fri)

    FLSA: EXEMPT

    Pay Range: $60K TO $70K ANNUALLY

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The role of Human Resources Generalist is to partner with the Ultra Pro’s business units to maximize the potential of our most strategic asset – our employees.     PAYROLL ADMINISTRATION

    Administer all regular day-to-day activities of Payroll and Benefits. Ensure compliance with established policies, regulations and procedures relating to payroll and benefits. Keeping the payroll and benefits responsibilities timely and accurate. Process bi-weekly payroll and verify accuracy of entries. Keep all documentation for payroll purposes and maintain proper payroll files. Process manual checks as needed, i.e., terminations, bonuses, reimbursements, etc. Run reports from the HRIS.

     

    TALENT ACQUISITION

    Full-cycle recruiting functions, to include assisting with maintaining the company’s recruiting spreadsheet, requisitions, ad placements, sourcing, screening, telephone phone screens, selection, and offer letters. Updating Organizational Chart. . Conduct all pre-employment screening processes to include new hire orientations, background checks, drug screens, and reference checking.

     

    BENEFIT ADMINISTRATION

    Timely administration of medical, dental, vision, 401K, FSA, Life/AD&D, Cobra, and other insurance plans, including billing, enrollments on websites, entering into payroll, and reconciliation of benefit accounts. Tracking Cobra activities from enrollments, payments, premiums, and discontinuance. Prepare and distribute Employee Benefit Packages with pertaining documentation and rates. Explain the various benefit options to employees, if requested. Maintain and update benefit requirements and ensure compliance with laws.

     

    HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION

    Process new hires, status changes, and terminations. Follow up with personnel and management on any missing hire documentation, status changes, and other documentation. Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports on an ongoing basis, such as reviews and employee action dates, birthdates, driver’s license expiration dates, etc. Process child support orders, wage garnishments, liens, etc. Update employee files, such as address changes, status changes, W4 and I9. Assist with event planning administration. Complete and maintain unemployment forms, Worker Compensation, safety and risk management initiatives. Assist with HR budget planning for each fiscal year. Timely file maintenance and record keeping. Work with HR Assistant on various projects.

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUISITES

    3-5 years previous experience in HR preferred.

    High-School diploma, GED required, BS degree in HR or related field preferred.

    Bilingual in English and Spanish required (Speak, Read and Write).

    HR Certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, SHRM CA Micro-Credential, or HRCI-PHR/SPHR/PHRca) preferred, but not required.

    Must have strong payroll and report processing knowledge and experience for more than 100 employees with payroll software programs required, knowledge of the Paycom HRIS preferred, not required

    Proficient  knowledge and continued education of employment, wage and hour laws relating to payroll, benefits administration and HR administration.

    Proficient experience in California and Federal Employment Laws.

    Must have intermediate knowledge of COBRA, garnishments, new hire and health benefits orientation, Worker Compensation, safety, personnel files administration, completing EDD forms, and leave of absences administration

    Must be analytical, and understand the importance of being the "right-hand person" and  "thinker" in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources

    Proficient skills in Excel.
