    Position Overview

    The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound imaging examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This role includes preparing patients for procedures, operating sonographic equipment, evaluating images for diagnostic quality, documenting findings, and collaborating closely with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care.

    The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical imaging skills, independent clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach to care delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations
    • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
    • Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological findings
    • Differentiate between normal and abnormal imaging findings using independent clinical judgment
    • Analyze sonograms and synthesize diagnostic imaging information, patient history, and medical records
    • Communicate imaging findings and preliminary observations to physicians and clinical staff as appropriate
    • Perform all requested sonographic examinations ordered by the attending physician
    • Prepare preliminary reports according to established procedures
    • Coordinate imaging schedules with supervisors and clinical staff to ensure patient coverage and workflow efficiency
    • Maintain patient safety, comfort, dignity, and well-being throughout examinations
    • Assist with daily operations within the sonography department or imaging laboratory
    • Maintain accurate patient logs, examination documentation, and billing forms
    • Support laboratory accreditation and regulatory compliance activities
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
    • Address patient care concerns and assist in resolving workflow or clinical issues appropriately
    • Organize daily work assignments and complete related clerical responsibilities as needed
    • Monitor sonographic equipment performance and report equipment failures or maintenance concerns
    • Provide education and procedural guidance to healthcare team members regarding sonographic procedures
    • Complete all required organizational training, compliance education, and regulatory requirements
    • Maintain ethical and professional working relationships with internal teams, referral sources, and healthcare partners

    • Minimum of 2 years of recent practical ultrasound imaging experience in a hospital or clinic setting
    • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology program
    • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • Strong ability to operate sonographic equipment effectively and safely
    • Ability to evaluate sonograms and obtain accurate diagnostic imaging information
    • Ability to integrate sonographic findings with laboratory results, patient history, and medical records
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment during examinations to obtain optimal diagnostic results
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare teams
    • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced or emergency clinical situations
    • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with healthcare staff and patients
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively
    • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
    • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods
    • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds
    • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required
    • Valid U.S. Passport with at least 18 months remaining prior to expiration
    • Ability to obtain and maintain required background screening and security requirements
    • Ability to relocate internationally for the duration of the assignment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with digital image acquisition and transmission systems
    • Prior experience or willingness to learn general X-ray technician duties
    • Knowledge of imaging department workflows and best practices
    • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program preferred
    • Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements
    • ARRT and/or Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) eligibility or certification preferred
    • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary healthcare environments

    Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
