Pay: $50 – $55 per hour
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients as requested by physicians. The technician is responsible for producing high-quality images, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position is per diem and may require flexibility in scheduling based on departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and other specialized exams.
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
Review imaging results for quality and accuracy; provide preliminary observations to physicians when appropriate.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records, document procedures, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
Current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 1 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology as it relates to ultrasound imaging.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to varying schedules.
