About the Role
This position is responsible for all underwriting tasks related to assigned underwriting files to promote premium growth and target loss ratio results. Responsibilities include meeting key performance metrics related to service guidelines, compliance, and portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and price both new and renewal Cyber, Media, and E&O insurance policies, with a focus on wholesale broker distribution channels.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts while developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of business opportunities.
- Evaluate, select, and price risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines and within assigned authority.
- Maintain strong broker relationships to drive new business production and ensure proper account servicing.
- Structure tailor-made underwriting solutions that align with client needs and market trends.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., quote, bind, claims ratios) and take appropriate action to meet business targets.
- Promote the company's expertise by participating in industry conferences and events and conducting client and broker meetings to educate on evolving cyber risk.
- Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting guidelines and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including product, claims, actuarial, and technology teams to support underwriting execution.
- Participate in special projects including new product development and exploration of new distribution channels.
About You
- Strong knowledge of underwriting practices, insurance law, and regulatory requirements.
- 3–5 years of underwriting experience, with a focus on Cyber and/or E&O products
- Proven ability to build strong broker relationships in the wholesale channel.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and communication skills across functional areas.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Ability to travel up to 20% as necessary.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 1-5 years of related work experience.
