    SUMMARY

    The Graphic Designer creates graphic concepts, designs, illustrations and marketing communications in both traditional print and electronic formats for internal UniPro departments.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Communicates directly with appropriate internal staff personnel to determine purpose, goals and budget parameters of graphic design projects including preferred mediums, target audiences, timelines and cost estimates.
    • Creates artwork, designs, photo retouch and print pre-press files required for the materials involved in marketing and creative concepts, e.g. logos, brochures, sales flyers, annual calendars and planners, advertisements, communications campaigns, email design, catalogues, forms, presentation graphics, and exhibit graphics, etc.
    • Provides art and photo direction for photo shoots with third-party photographers as necessary.
    • Sources, arranges and supervises material production with third-party service vendors and printers.
    • Arranges and coordinates the shipment and delivery of all materials prepared or used by outside vendors.
    • Coordinates and reviews third-party vendor invoices and sends to department manager for processing and approval.
    • Acts as coordinator and lead person between project initiator and outside vendors to provide specific project requirements and specifications; initial recommendations and approval of design concepts and elements, and supplies input on project status to parties involved.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of five years’ experience in graphic design required. Technical/design school, a plus. Advanced proficiency level in design software used in the creation of graphics, as well as a strong knowledge of all types of industry-leading software programs as well as file types and formats. Knowledge of spreadsheets, data entry, word processing, internet, email communications and presentation software required. Personal expertise, proficiency and experience in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Suitcase, Stuffit, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and email creation templates applicable to both Microsoft Windows and Macintosh OSX operating systems.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    Light to moderate travel, including out-of-town, overnight stays will be necessary on occasion.
