Civil Engineer Job Overview
Come join our Civil engineering team with Atrium! You will oversee the safety, design, logistics, and construction or repair of infrastructure projects and systems in both the public and private sectors. You will apply engineering solutions and knowledge to improve communities and provide utilities that meet basic human needs. You will collaborate with our existing Civil Engineer on ongoing and future projects.
You will also compile, fill out, and submit permits and applications to local, state, and federal agencies and ensure their projects comply with local rules, laws, and regulations. As well as being responsible for the relevant education of clients and communities involved with the project and presenting your findings to the public & managers/executive members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
- Prepare and review reports and construction documents.
- Coordinate any field survey tasks.
- Liaise with clients and agencies, contractors, and design teams on projects.
- Engage with clients to define and achieve successful cost-effective designs and solutions.
- Perform or coordinate with outside engineers for specialty items such as traffic impact studies, geotechnical investigations and reports, utility master plans, electrical designs, lighting, road designs and more.
- Coordinate survey reports, topography maps, ALTA surveys, plat maps and other data to plan projects.
- Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions.
- Work with engineering team on the production of design drawings.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Provide cost estimates and budget projections for technical proposals.
- Write and review/approve reports and specifications and make presentations.
- Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
- Develop and apply advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.
- May plan, assign and supervise the work of others.
- Coordinate with local and nationwide teams for project delivery.
- Perform independent research and analysis for significant and complex engineering projects.
- Contribute to company standard detail and specification development and updates.
- Willingness to travel to construction site locations is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in civil engineering.
- Experience with Civil 3D, or similar software.
- Have your Utah PE license or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
- Prior experience in a consulting position would be a plus.
- A problem solver with a demonstrated collaborative work ethic.
- Demonstrated skill with a variety of site design projects.
- Demonstrated skill with the preparation of construction documents for utilities, site design, storm drain reports, and roadway design.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Experience with producing engineer estimates.
License:
- Professional Engineer (PE)
Compensation:
- $140,000.00+ DOE
- + relocation bonus up-to $10K
