Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and oversee a wide variety of construction projects from beginning to end.
PROJECT ENGINEER OVERVIEW:
The Project Engineer plays an integral role in administering the logistics, document control, and coordination among project stakeholders. He/she reports to the Project Manager and has responsibilities related to document control, quality control, safety, and subcontractor management. The position is based out of our Lehi, Utah office.
We are seeking positive, critically thinking Project Engineers to help maintain and lead future projects.
PROJECT ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
DOCUMENT CONTROL
● Manage electronic plan room (RFI’s, submittals & drawings)
● Develop and maintain submittal & procurement log
● Coordinate and process submittals & RFIs
● Track and maintain project quality management
● Maintain testing and inspection records with superintendent
● Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
● Daily/weekly jobsite photos and videos
● Maintain/distribute project correspondence
● Inventory material and equipment deliveries
● Assist in quantity reporting
● Assist with CRXs and change order pricing
QUALITY CONTROL
● Manage punch list, deficiencies, and non-conforming work
● Quality observations – send to superintendent for daily report
● Assist in constructability & detail reviews
● Assist in coordinating all testing and site inspections
● Constructability reviews – assist superintendent
● Lead project closeout
● Produce O&M manual as required
PLAN
● Assist superintendent & PM with project execution plan
● Assist in overall project cost control
● Assist PM overall project schedule control and updates
● Assist superintendent and project manager as required
● Assist superintendent in preparation of short interval schedules
● Assist in BIM modeling coordination
● Assist superintendent in project layout
● Assist superintendent with commissioning
SAFETY
● Assist superintendent in subcontractor safety orientation.
● Assist superintendent with the jobsite safety program.
SUBCONTRACTORS
● Manage subcontractor daily reports
● Coordinate mock-ups as required
● Process and coordinate RFIs/Submittals for each trade
● Lead coordination with subs on submittals and RFI’s
● Receive, track and distribute contract & subcontract documents
● Assist superintendent in leading site meetings
● Assist superintendent in leading readiness reviews
● Assist in reviewing sub-trade monthly invoices
KEY SKILLS/ APTITUDES:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
● A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management
● Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects
● Strong communication/people skills
● Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Primavra and Autodesk Suite

● Ability to calculate figures, quantities and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
● Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and surveying
REASONING ABILITY
● Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
● Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
