    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Equipment Salesperson reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for generating new revenue in retail equipment sales, services with existing Lawrence customers, as well as identifying and securing new sales opportunities within the assigned territory. 

    The ideal candidate will have previous construction equipment sales experience with ability to identify potential customers, identify customer needs, assess interest, and explain all products/options available.

     

    Required Skills

    ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
    • Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests
    • Contact regular and prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders
    • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
    • Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs
    • Prepare and execute municipal bids
    • Provide customers with product samples via equipment demonstrations, loaner equipment and catalogs
    • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
    • Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales
    • Negotiate details of contracts and payments, and prepare sales contracts and order forms

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience
    • Previous heavy equipment sales experience required
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business software applications
