    Job Description

     

    DATA ENTRY SPECIALIST

     

    Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County is currently hiring a DATA ENTRY SPECIALIST. The Data Entry Specialist performs fund development duties and assists with all activities of the Development Department. The Data Entry Specialist also provides assistance to other departments as needed. This is a part-time position of at least 24 hours per week. This position is expected to maintain ethical standards of fundraising as outlined in the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    · Responsible for all data entry of all donations into DonorPerfect.

    • Responsible for saying a timely Thank You to donors and sending tax receipts.
    • Issue tribute cards and prepare tribute list for monthly reporting
    • Ensure donor information is updated and maintained in accordance with Mission policies; protect donor privacy (shred donation slips and other personal documents)
    • Prepare weekly/monthly/annual development reports as requested
    • Monitor Mission compliance with donor gift intent
    • Maintain stationery inventory and implement cost savings ideas when possible
    • Maintain ethical standards of fundraising as outlined in the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
    • Maintain Development Department Policies and Procedures Manual

     

    Donor Data Base Management:

    • Manage DonorPerfect Data Base
    • Make changes and additions to client data tracking policies
    • Enter daily donation gift batches and run, print, fold, stuff, stamp and seal receipt letters
    • Prepare donation queries and reports as needed
    • Work with Softerware personnel to ensure software and IT contractors to address hardware issues

     

     

     

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Minimum of high school diploma and 4 years of business school or equivalent work experience;

    COMPUTER SKILLS: Familiarity with Windows, proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet functions, experience with or ability to learn DonorPerfect software and other advanced software programs’ ability to use other office equipment, including 10-key, copy machine, fax and phone systems.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for a majority of each day; ability to stand, bend, lift and carry.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: All job duties are performed in an office environment. Since the client population served is primarily homeless and indigent, there is a high possibility of encountering persons with mental illnesses, addictions and infectious diseases.
