    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The primary objective of this role is to manage and grow the Engineering capabilities in the Division.

     

    Required Skills

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

     

    ESTIMATING RESPONSIBILITIES

                 

    • Assess technical constructability of projects at the design and/or bidding stage
    • Be heavily involved with the division estimating team throughout the estimate         
    • Manage engineering processes, both in-house as well as subcontracted efforts on all division design-build procurement efforts

     

    CONSTRUCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Work with construction managers and superintendents on planning, scheduling, and budgeting of engineering functions on division projects  
    • Help determine project-related decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance
    • Personally perform engineering tasks as necessary during the construction of division-led projects
    • Assist project teams in creating and maintaining project schedules
    • Assist project management teams with coordination of technical issues with subcontractors
    • Manage the execution of construction plans to specifications in accordance with all applicable codes and standards
    • Manage Engineered Systems Program for all division projects
    • Manage engineering functions required for equipment usage and upgrades
    • Manage and maintain a central repository of engineering information

     

    EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Manage the flow of technical information between projects and throughout the division
    • Stay current on applicable software, to enhance productivity and engineering performance
    • Provide training for engineers through the company’s training program and/or onsite, as required
    • Manage and train a staff of entry-level engineers, emphasizing the development of their technical skills
    • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend events including, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE    

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
    • 10-15 years of engineering experience required
    • PE required
