    Job Summary

    A busser, also known as a busboy or busgirl, is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in a restaurant. Their primary duties include clearing and resetting tables, cleaning dishes and utensils, and ensuring a tidy dining area. Bussers assist in the efficient turnover of tables by promptly removing used items and supporting the waitstaff. Additionally, they may help with refilling water glasses, restocking condiments, and providing general assistance to both customers and the restaurant staff. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment are key aspects of the busser role.

    Responsibilities

    1. Table Clearing: Clearing and resetting tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring a clean and welcoming dining environment.

    2. Dish Clearing: Collecting and clearing used dishes, glasses, and utensils from tables and delivering them to the dishwashing area.

    3. Assisting Servers: Supporting servers by refilling water glasses, delivering additional utensils, and providing any necessary assistance to enhance customer experience.

    4. Bussing Stations: Keeping service stations well-stocked with clean dishes, napkins, and condiments for efficient table turnover.

    5. Floor Maintenance: Sweeping and cleaning the dining area floor to maintain a tidy and safe environment for both customers and staff.

    6. Trash Disposal: Emptying trash bins regularly and ensuring proper disposal of waste to uphold cleanliness standards.

    7. Customer Interaction: Interacting with customers in a courteous manner, assisting with inquiries, and providing assistance as needed.

    8. Collaboration: Working closely with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

    9. Pre-Bussing: Clearing dishes and empty glasses during the course of the meal to create a more comfortable dining experience for guests.

    10. Attention to Detail: Paying attention to detail and promptly addressing any spills or messes to maintain a clean and attractive dining area.

    Qualifications:

    Previous knowledge of food service regulations preferred

    Skilled with the use of hand tools or machines needed for the position

    Able to work in a fast-paced environment

    Able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be up to 35 lbs. without assistance.

    Able to stand for extended periods of time

    Able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks
