  • Responsibilities

    The Accountant is responsible for the financial plans and policies of the property, the maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports including monthly bank reconciliations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Maintains all aspects of accounting responsibilities for multiple properties to include:

    • Preparation of monthly financial information in accordance with deadlines and requirements

    • Forecasting cash flow

    • Close property books and prepare monthly financial statements and other schedules by analyzing general ledger accounts and property related reports

    • Analyze the cash requirements of properties and anticipate future cash needs

    • Prepare replacement reserve requests in a timely manner

    • Perform audit schedules, tax schedules, and budgeting

    • Monthly bank reconciliations

    • Calculation of monthly management fees and other fees

    • Monthly general ledger account analysis and balance sheet account reconciliation

    • Resolution of problems and issues as needed

    • Research problems under the direction of the immediate supervisor as required

    • Communicate with property owners and personnel as necessary

    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedure and maintain effective internal controls

    • Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as needed

    • Identify and implement process improvement

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED
    • One to three years accounting experience
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Onsite property management software experience preferred
    • The ability to read and interpret complex tenant leases, real estate related agreements and construction contracts
    • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
    • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proactive organizational and task management skills
