Strategic Planner (Full Time / On-site)
Job Description
At GALLEGOS United, the Strategy group is a key, respected partner for clients: we help set the agenda and vision for the brands, we bring forth cultural insights to ensure deep relevancy, we ensure creative is not only on strategy but is breakthrough and disruptive, we define the communications principles that guide media choices and we make sure we insert the brand in the most fertile and share worthy conversations. The Strategy group is the one department where there is true convergence of audience and channel.
S/he will be instrumental in developing an understanding of an audience, marketplace and competitive set and deriving insights. The ultimate goal is to intimately know and understand an audience through comprehensive discovery, which will inform all aspects of campaign planning: from creative brief development to performance reporting.
Because of the agency’s client roster and current assignments, international experience (especially in Spanish-language markets) is a plus, and experience in the U.S. Hispanic market is a requirement.
Responsibilities
Represent the voice of the consumer in all communications through research and insights.
Begin to develop client relationships by leading 1-2 accounts with minimal supervision.
Serve as a strategic counsel to assigned accounts with minimal supervision.
Help design internal and external workshops to solve strategic issues with minimal supervision.
Design and/or consult on discussion guides and research methodology.
Apply research insights to develop a compelling brand story for clients and new business.
Effectively craft creative briefs and brief teams.
Lead writing culture and trends reports for the department.
Qualifications

2+ years in an agency as a strategist, finding real insight and then ensuring it made the work better. We want to know the brands you've worked for and with and how you've made them better. Size of brand doesn’t matter – scale & clarity of your thinking to help make a difference does.
Some level of experience with U.S. Multicultural audiences.
Detail rigor – ideally an MRI/Simmons maven & data lover.
Culturally plugged in; nimble, inspired and scrappy gatherer of information.
Crisp thinker and communicator – verbally, visually and in writing.
Strength of conviction for your thinking, well balanced by an open ear and mind.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities, discerning a clear path forward and acting upon them swiftly.
Fully bilingual in English/Spanish a ++.
Willingness and comfortable doing business in an environment with language fluidity between English and Spanish, internally at the agency and with clients.
