    Job Description

    THIS JOB IS LOCATED IN HOUSTON, TX AND A DIVISION OF KIRBY CORPORATION.

    SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of pricing strategies as directed by the Pricing Director.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for price and customer discount uploads
    • Calculate and file rebates based upon established vendor programs,
    • Maintains and creates customer pricing schedules,
    • Responsible for the review and administration of price deviations and exceptions
    • Work closely with other Pricing Analysists to analyze pricing across KDS companies
    • Translates high volume of data into meaningful information to support key business decisions
    • Provides training to KDS branches
    • Provide support for system upgrades and implementations related to pricing
    • Provide a high-quality pricing customer service
    • Responsible for documenting and maintaining pricing processes
    • Special projects as identified

    QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE & SKILL:

    • Strong customer service skills
    • Proven analytical skills
    • High attention to detail/reporting accuracy, while also able to focus on the overall problem/solution
    • Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office applications (especially MS Excel and Power BI), ERP system (Oracle preferred) and Business Object Explorer
    • Strong oral and written communication skills: ability to synthesize information and succinctly communicate key findings and recommendations

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience; Finance, and/or Mathematics background a strong plus

    EXPERIENCE:

    A minimum 3-5 years of data analysis experience with a pricing focus is preferred.

Through the Marine Transportation segment, Kirby operates as the premier tank barge operator in the United States, transporting bulk liquid products throughout the Mississippi River System, on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, and along all three U.S. Coasts. Kirby’s service includes the transporting of petrochemicals, black oil, refined petroleum products and agricultural chemical products by tank barge. Kirby also owns and operates four offshore barge and tugboat units transporting dry-bulk commodities in United States coastwise trade. In the Distribution and Services segment, Kirby is a leading distributor and services provider to industrial markets, offering customers a single source for after-market service and parts for engines, transmissions, reduction gears, and related equipment used in oilfield services, marine, power generation, on-highway, and other industrial applications. In the oil and gas markets, Kirby serves as a distributor and service provider for diesel engines, transmissions, and pumps, and manufactures and remanufactures oilfield service equipment, including pressure pumping units. The Company also manufactures power generation equipment, specialized electrical distribution and control equipment, high capacity energy storage/battery systems, and rail car movers. In marine and power generation applications, Kirby provides after-market service for medium-speed and high-speed diesel engines, reduction gears and ancillary products. Kirby also sells and rents equipment including generators, and rents compressors, high capacity lift trucks, and refrigeration trailers for use in a variety of industrial markets.
