    This position is responsible for managing the internal control function to achieve reasonable assurance regarding effectiveness and efficiency of operations, reliability of financial reporting, compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Activities include reviewing, evaluating and making recommendations for corrections and/or improvements related to the internal controls over financial, operational and regulatory control processes and systems throughout Sonepar-USA. This position reports to VP Finance Operations.

     

    Key Accountabilities: 

    • Manage implementation and execution of Global Internal Control Program for Sonepar USA
    • Review and promote compliance with policies implemented to mitigate risk.
    • Work with Executives across Sonepar USA in creating process improvement initiatives and
    • eliminating control risks in the business units
    • Implement segregations of duties analysis process
    • Administer the Fraud and Disclosure Reporting documentation for all Sonepar USA, deliverable to the Global Controlling team
    • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure effective communication between management and auditors. Maximize external auditors’ reliance on management’s work. Respond to review comments and ensure resolution to any issues identified in testing
    • Drive continuous improvement through the existing control framework and promote an internal control model that can be replicated across all business units.
    • Drive continuous updating of process documentation, including flowcharts, narratives and risk/control matrices.
    • Support acquisitions integration to ensure Sonepar Internal Controls Program is implemented across new operations.
    • Assist Finance Operations team in one-off Projects as needs arise.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 8+ years of progressive internal controls experience, process, systems up to Manager level or applicable assurance experience; public accounting experience a plus.
    • Must have knowledge of standard auditing practices and procedures and the ability to apply them.
    • Must be hands-on, have a strong work ethic, excel in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.
    • Must have experience in successfully lead/directing and motivating staff to include, but not limited to, accomplish/exceeding departmental and Company goals and to nurture growth and resolve conflict diplomatically.
    • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS, consolidations process including intercompany eliminations.
    • Professional qualifications (CPA, CIA or equivalent) desirable
    • Travel 10% Requirements
    • Willing to work a Hybrid schedule
