LIGHTING/SWITCHGEAR ESTIMATOR

HARRISONBURG, VA

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Correspond with electrical contractor, engineer or architect.
• Communicate effectively with the sales team on all aspects of the project.
• Foster and maintain excellent working relationships internally with project manager and outside sales rep, as well as externally with customers, manufacturers’ representatives, and suppliers.
• Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
• Manage vendor relationships to benefit Capital Electric, our customers and the suppliers.
• Stay current with new product information and emerging technologies.
• Suggest cross-over and associated items, or alternative and additional items related to an order where possible.
• Work with vendor/manufacturer representative to make project less expensive, i.e. substitution material, design options, value engineering.
• Compile and analyze information from vendors.
• Prepare timely and accurate quotes for commercial projects.
• Provide a complete and accurate quotation within the required timeframe.
• Read and understand bill of material.
• Review blue prints & take offs.
• Review plans and specifications.
• Negotiate pricing with vendors and customers.
• Review the Submittal Process; work with contractor and manufacturer to produce a submittal package.
• Create, or participate in the creation of, project documentation.
• Keep accurate records of all transactions.
• Constantly look for better ways to accomplish tasks and continually improve processes.
• Demonstrate our mission, vision and values through your words and actions.
• Communicate in a professional manner over the phone, in person and through writing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School or GED
• 3-5 years customer service experience – electrical/lighting industry preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good and dependable mathematic skills
• Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic
