    CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS ASSOCIATE  

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization and drive fundraising across private and public channels for USES. The Corporate and Foundation Relations Associate is a fundraiser focused on corporate and foundation grant opportunities, and a project manager with strong writing skills and a desire to build external relationships. This individual will work in collaboration with USES’s program staff to develop a deep understanding of USES’s program model, its impact, and the successes of our participants. The person in this role will research trends in philanthropy and data relevant to our programs and outcomes.  The Corporate and Foundation Relations Associate will take responsibility for ambitious targets for revenue growth and develop the relationships necessary to secure funding and achieve our goals. In joining our development staff, there is an opportunity to work closely with a team of committed development and marketing professionals and learn from the expertise of experienced mentors. The Corporate and Foundation Relations Associate reports to and partners with the Director of Development. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in grantwriting and external relationship-building, in partnership with a collaborative Development team.  

    WHAT YOU’LL LOVE

    • Serving as the lead grant writer and overseeing the grant management and reporting function of public, private foundation, and corporate grants, with a goal of securing $450,000 - $500,000 in grant funding for the current fiscal year.
    • Partnering with the Director of Development and the Development Communications & Marketing Manager to execute a corporate/foundation stewardship plan with a focus on building strong, sustainable relationships with on-going touchpoints throughout the year.
    • Expanding our pipeline of foundation and corporate prospects at the $25,000+ level.
    • Researching statistics, trends, and best practices to strengthen the case for USES’s model.
    • Partnering with the Program team leadership and the Development Communications & Marketing Manager to ensure that proposal and report language remains up-to-date on program development, outcomes, and USES’s messaging.
    • Serving as a representative of USES by attending community meetings, events at our partner organizations, civic gatherings, etc. to raise USES’s visibility and make connections to donors and prospects.
    • Developing relationships with USES program staff and participants to understand the impact of our programs and create content that spotlights our successes.
    • Engaging community groups and corporate partners in days of service.
    • Attending USES fundraising events and program events such as graduations, health fairs, and arts and culture events (some nights and weekends will be required).
    • Other tasks as assigned, including administrative support for the Development team and cross-training with other team members as needed.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:  

    USES is seeking a development professional who has the experience, ambition, and mission alignment needed to support our Development team, including the following:  

    1. Commitment to USES’s mission
    2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
    3. Excellent written and communication skills
    4. Strong organizational and time management skills
    5. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
    6. A working knowledge of Salesforce and/or comparable fundraising databases is a plus
    7. Must be able to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality
    8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take initiative and be a self-starter
    10. One to three years of relevant experience with excellent references
    11. Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience
    12. Ability to work some nights and weekends
    13. Ability to work remotely or on-site as needed
