    United Sports is looking for responsible and energetic individuals to join our team for Summer Camp 2024! We are hiring Day Camp and Sports Camp counselors for what we know will be the best summer yet.

    Summer Camp Dates: May 29th through August 23rd (some hours available in early May; applicant does not need to be able to work all weeks of camp, but is expected to be able to work at least 7 of the 13 weeks).

    Camp Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm (counselors typically work a 5 to 9 hours shift during the day; additional incentives available for working opening/closing shifts)

    Our summer camps at United Sports for ages 3 to 13 are filled with fun games, sports, crafts, activities, and special events!

    Sports Camps include soccer, flag football, gymnastics, field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball and cheer. Specialty Camps include gaming, cooking, and arts & crafts.

    Responsibilities: --Guide campers between the ages of 3 and 13 throughout their camp experience, and create a safe, caring, and fun environment for campers. --Assume responsibility for leadership and guidance to campers in daily activities, with special attention to safety, camper participation activities, and interactions between campers. --Serve as a good role model in personal language, appearance, and communication skills. --Assume responsibility for health/welfare of campers entrusted to his/her charge --Communicate verbally with campers individually each day --Create a fun and inviting space for all campers. --Create daily activities for campers. --Ensure inclusion of all campers in daily activities. --Respond to any behavioral situations. --Help implement a weekly schedule for your camp group. --Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, games, sports, etc.. --Ensure that the camp room is kept clean, organized, and free of litter. --Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance. --Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program. * --Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers safety and their whereabouts at all times.

    Competencies/Requirements: --Personal Effectiveness/Credibility --Thoroughness --Collaboration Skills --Communication Proficiency --Be physically able to accompany the campers to any of the camp activities. --Be able to communicate verbally with campers, and provide instructions. --Have visual ability to recognize hazards in the camp setting and the auditory ability to respond appropriately to those hazards. --Follow all camp rules and guidelines. --Be able to observe camper behavior in daily camp life, to respond to health and safety concerns, and to deal appropriately with the improper behavior. --Submit all background checks, clearances, and trainings required by DHS and United Sports Youth Programs Department.
