    Colorado Urologic Surgery Center - Park Meadows is looking for Medical Assistants to support the Ambulatory Surgery Centers. We are looking for full-time and part-time. The Medical Assistant is anticipated to work alongside physicians, mainly in outpatient or ambulatory care facilities, such as medical offices and clinics.

    REQUIREMENTS CERTIFICATE / LICENSE:

    • High School Diploma
    • BLS certification required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of medical office procedures.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
    • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information.
    • Knowledge of basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately.
    • Skill in operating a computer, copy machine, and fax.
    • Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
    • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
    • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems.
    • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
    • Prepares exam rooms in the clinical area for patient care daily, including stocking of all necessary supplies.
    • Escorts patients to exam rooms, taking the required vital signs and obtaining urine specimens; performing dip and automated urinalysis and microscopic preparation and review when indicated.
    • Assists physician with the preparation/administration of Lupron, BCG, Eligard, Vantas, and Mitomycin; assist/perform with office based procedures (bladder scan, urethral dilations, and catheterization) as requested.
    • Triage patient calls for pharmacy requests, test results, medical questions and concerns as directed by the physician; documenting outcomes in EHRs
    • Assists in maintenance of all logs and records for OSHA/MOSHA.
    • Adheres to and follows sterilization and disinfection practices throughout the facility.
    • Adheres to bio-hazardous or red bag waste policy and procedure for proper disposal of biomedical waste.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

    • Ability to sit for long periods of time. Stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies.
    • Occasional lifting of files, supplies or paper weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Requires manual dexterity.
    • Vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing in normal range for telephone contacts.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations.
    • Work is performed in an office environment.
    • Involves frequent contact with staff and patients. May involve dealing with angry or upset people.
    • Work may be stressful at times.
    • May include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
    • May require flexible working hours.

    $17/HR-$21/HR.
