    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The HR Generalist works collaboratively with OneSource management, associates and the Human Resource team to provide strong support in the area of Talent Acquisition and HR Operations. This role is responsible for a variety of HR activities, primarily focused on recruiting, onboarding and supporting talent through Company policies and procedures in addition to building positive relationships with Managers and Associates. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

     

    TALENT ACQUISITION

    • Update and create job postings and other recruitment collateral.
    • Update and create interviewing plans specific to the job function utilizing internal tools through partnership with the Training team.
    • Work with hiring managers on recruitment planning and hiring process.
    • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
    • Proactively manage the candidate and new hire experience.
    • Evaluate current as well as research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting and develop social media strategy (Facebook, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, etc.).
    • Build networks, databases, and recruitment sources to find qualified passive candidates.
    • Develop a pool of qualified and diverse candidates to “build the bench” of talent.
    • Coordinate and implement college recruitment for internship program.
    • Assist and receive job requisitions via the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Post and advertise open positions.
    • Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
    • Conduct pre-screening phone and in-person interviews.
    • Maintain all recruiting records utilizing our Applicant Tracking System.
    • Assist in performing reference and background checks for potential new hires.
      • Follow-up with hiring managers and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.
      • Assist in preparing and forwarding offer and rejection letters.
      • Assist in transitioning new hire to the onboarding program (future development of onboarding platform).
    • Partner with Sonepar USA and manage all aspects of the Applicant Tracking System to include training of new leaders utilizing the system.
    • Assist & support our compliance efforts with OFCCP/AAP/EEO regulations including affirmative action planning, workforce diversity, EEO-1 and VETS 100 reporting.

      

    ONBOARDING

    • Partner with HR team members regarding onboarding of new associates, training & development, and the safety of associates.
    • Coordinate associate onboarding workflow with all departments necessary to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
    • Prepare and gather all necessary materials for new hire onboarding & orientation.

    HR OPERATIONS

    • Support the maintenance of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) records and generate reports with for a variety of leaders on a monthly and as-needed basis.
    • Help develop, support, and implement HR initiatives, policies, processes, and systems.
    • Track employee referrals and provide reporting to Payroll Specialist for timely payouts
    • Assist in the exit interview process.
    • Perform customer service functions by responding to associate questions and requests.
    • Assist in performing annual internal audits for benefits eligibility, I9’s, employee files.
    • Help generate and maintain company organization charts.

    PARTNERING & LEADERSHIP

    • Establish relationships with management, associates and the Human Resource team that will enable the HR function to be viewed as an integral part of the business. Foster relationships so that new hires utilize HR for their needs and so that management relies on the function to support our business objectives.

    • Provide education and training to internal customers on HPD forms and documents to ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation.
    • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
    • Participate in and follow all OneSource policies, guidelines, and procedures (Safety, Anti-Harassment, Ethics, etc.).
    • Participate in HR team alignment meetings.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

    Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University preferred.

    • HRCI or SHRM HR Certification preferred but not required.
    • 3 - 5 years' of progressive Human Resources and Recruitment experience; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System is required.
    • Experience with an onboarding system is preferred.
    • Experience with Kronos Workforce Ready and Ceridian highly desirable.

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong working knowledge of HR functions and procedures; understanding of EEO, EEOC, OFCCP, and other employment and labor laws.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and thrive in a fast pace environment.

    • Demonstrated ability to manage processes and staffing functions within a multi-site, multi-state company.

    • Demonstrated effectiveness leading full life cycle recruitment efforts.

    • Possess excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

    • Strong computer skills to include: knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), knowledge of downloading, exporting and importing data to and from a variety of systems, saving, deleting and organizing files, email etiquette and Internet use, strong data entry and accurate keyboard skills.

    • Ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion; trustworthy.

    • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

    • Ability to set goals, possess strong planning skills and execute.

    • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with little supervision.
