    Required Skills

    • Oversees all staff and processes relating to physical therapy ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
    • Participates in development of Policies and Procedures within the department.
    • Devise detailed treatment and care plans for each of the patients.
    • Communicate and coordinate with patients physicians, clinical staff, and case manager to ensure a consistent level of care.
    • Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, case manager, and other health care workers.
    • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
    • Exercise independent judgment based on experience to implement effective treatment combinations.
    • Evaluate and report on patientS progress  documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
    • Comply with federal and state physical therapy regulations.
    • Participates in Performance Improvement Plan.
    • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    • Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.
    • Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center
    • Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
    • Follow the Center's professional conduct and dress code policy.
    • Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians and their office staff, patients, and employees.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
    • Participates in the Disease Specific Certification Program for Total Joint patients.
    • Assists with other responsibilities of center as deemed necessary by management.

    Required Experience

    • Required

    1.  High school diploma or GED certification

    1. Completion of appropriate physical therapy program.

    3.  Valid state Physical Therapist license

    1. Strong ethical and moral character references

    2. Great attitude

    3. BLS Certification

     

    Preferred

    1.   Two years' previous physical therapy experience with emphasis on total joint rehabilitation
