    Mary Immaculate Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a motivated PT Pre-Op PACU RN to join our team. Mary Immaculate Ambulatory Surgery Center is a fast paced ambulatory surgery center environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. Our center specializes in the surgical procedures: orthopedics, gynecology, podiatry, ENT, and general surgery. 

    • Assess, instruct and prepare patients prior to surgery

    • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure

    • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure

    • Log and chart all findings in patient files

    • Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician

    • Cross trained and assist with PACU as needed

    • Assess patients’ post-operative condition

    • Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria

    • Perform intervention duties during postoperative emergencies

    Required Skills

    • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in VA
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in Pre-OP experience.
    • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
    • Must have current BLS certification.
    • Current ACLS certification is ideal.
    • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
    • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
    • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
    • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
