DIE CUTTING OPERATOR

 Sets up and operates machine to cut folding cartons; ensure that the Die Cutter is Operating in the safest possible manner; that the quality of the produced product exceeds our customer’s expectations and that performance goals are achieved.  . To perform this job successfully, an individual must obey all Safety procedures.  Individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review job ticket.
• Conducts pre-make ready as required.
• Setting-up die, counter plates, stripping section and press.
• Pulling front trim as required.
• Clean counter plates and strip down dies that are locked up.
• Clean area around press.
• Perform maintenance as required.
• Deliver cut cartons to finishing department.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines safely and within quality specifications.
• Other jobs as assigned by management

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• KNOWLEDGE:  H.S. Education or equivalent, computer literate.
• SKILLS:  Mechanical, communication.
• ABILITIES: Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work alone.

EXPERIENCE:   1-3 years related manufacturing experience and/or training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Duties require standing (except breaks and lunch) throughout working shift for 8 to 12 hours.
• Able to lift 10 lb. continuously and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lb.
• Occasional climbing, stooping, bending and overhead reaching.
• Frequent walking.
• Fine hand manipulation.
• Grasping and gripping.
• Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
• Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment
• Color vision needed to detect inappropriate color of product.
• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 8 OR 12 HOUR SHIFTS PLUS OVERTIME AS REQUIRED
• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT (DAYS/SWING/GRAVEYARD)
• MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED.

• Must understand, read, write and speak the English language
• MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD

• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, packing slips, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Must obtain Serv Safe certification within 12 months of hire date
• Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers
• Must have the ability to work early mornings, days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must have the ability to speak effectively in front of employees and guest of the organization
• Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding and a moderate level of problem solving in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Must take initiative and work independently
• Must be able work in a safe and timely manner with a sense of urgency in accordance with safety guidelines
