Under the supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, the Allied Terrace Van Service Driver is responsible for the transportation of any and all residents to and from physician’s appointments and any other medical needs deemed necessary.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience driving multi-passenger vehicles preferred.

Capable of scheduling/modifying resident’s appointments with doctor office’s preferred.

SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Valid PA driver's license required.

Must successfully complete Allied's Driver Training Program as stated by policy 2.43, including vision and hearing screenings.

Certifications in C.P.R. and First Aid preferred.

Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective, compassionate communication with residents required.

Maintains vehicle cleanliness.

Loads and unloads patients and wheelchairs, assisting patients as necessary. At drivers discretion, lifts patients up/down no more than ONE (1) step in wheelchair.

Performs daily maintenance checks and schedules maintenance of assigned vehicles under guidelines of established preventative maintenance plan. Completes daily mileage reports.

Drives and operates all Allied Services multi-passenger patient transportation vehicles in accordance with Allied Services Fleet Safety Program guidelines, transporting patients to and from medical treatment locations and their homes.
