    Job Summary:

     

    The payroll and benefits coordinator will perform duties within the human resources department. This position processes bi-weekly payroll, monitors attendance reports, and collects necessary data from current and potential employees related to payroll, benefits and personnel files. Additional duties may involve recruiting, on boarding, orientation coordination, and assisting with FMLA administration.

     

    This position may also assist with updating employee job descriptions and processing performance evaluations and associated pay rate changes. In addition, the payroll and benefits coordinator facilitates processing of new hires by performing background checks and investigating references prior to extension of job offers to candidates. The coordinator must keep meticulous records related to personnel information, certifications, and personnel action forms on each employee for auditing purposes.

     

    • Administer and maintain accurate and complete employee personnel files.
    • Ensures confidentiality of employee records.
    • Educates managers on hiring and on-boarding processes.
    • Coordinates orientation with other hospital educators.
    • Assists with hiring process and onboarding new employees.
    • Keeps employees informed of changes to benefits and coordinates the timely distribution of information.
    • Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
    • Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
    • Educates employees about their benefits and enrollment.
    • Communicates payroll and personnel changes to Senior Management
    • Enters any personal action items into payroll system – pay rate changes, new hires, termination, and conversions
    • Acts as a liaison between all corporate benefits analyst and on-site employees.

     



    Required Skills
    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Minimum of two years’ experience processing payroll
    • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
    • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel and working with databases
    • Working knowledge of e-Time and Kronos, ADP PCPW, Payforce, and Query.
    • Strong work ethic and team player.
    • High degree of professionalism.
    • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
    • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate with various levels of management.
    • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
