    AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER OF STOCKTON, is seeking a motivated RECEPTIONIST/SCHEDULER FULL TIME to join our team. ASCS is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. 

    JOB SUMMARY

    RECEPTIONIST/SCHEDULER is responsible for registering patients for surgery.  Interacts with patients, families, physicians, staff and visitors to the surgery center. This person performs all duties related to the schedule and handles the readiness of patient charts.   Reception/Scheduler is required to follow all USPI standards related to the function of the business office.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Schedule patients for upcoming appointments
    • Work closely with nurses and doctors
    • Registers patients for procedures within HIPAA guidelines.
    • Exhibit close attention to detail
    • Prioritizes patient satisfaction by upholding our values and mission statement.
    • Enters surgery/procedure appointments in Advantx
    • Updates surgery schedule and advises staff of those changes.
    • Prepares surgery charts in advance for each surgery day
    • Assists with filing of charts
    • Handles “Language Line” when an interpretation call is needed for a patient
    • Be open to cross-training
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Business Office Manager

    Required Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Medical terminology
    • Previous experience in a medical office.
    • Good communication skills, ability to multi-task, basic math skills.
    • Familiarity with computer, telephone, copier and other office equipment is essential.  
    • Bi-lingual preferred

     

    Required Experience
