Position Overview:

As a Pre-Admissions RN at Chattanooga Pain Center, you will play a pivotal role in preparing our patients for their surgical procedures. You will work closely with patients, their families, and our healthcare team to ensure that all pre-operative assessments and preparations are thorough, efficient, and patient-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history, allergies, medications, and vital signs.
• Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, expectations, and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to review patient information and ensure readiness for procedures.
• Coordinate necessary pre-operative testing, including laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Verify and document informed consent for surgical procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to optimize patient outcomes.
• Address patient concerns and provide emotional support to alleviate anxiety.
• Adhere to strict infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of pre-operative assessments.
• Will be cross trained to work pre and post op (PACU)

Required Skills

• Current RN licensure in the state of TN.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Previous experience in pre-operative and postoperative nursing is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic surgical environment.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
