    Lawrenceville Surgery Center is a single-specialty ambulatory orthopedic surgery practice committed to the highest clinical and customer service standards in the industry.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Circulating OR Registered Nurse to join our clinical team in a PRN capacity.

    • We make no commitment to available hours or benefits.
    • This role is ideal for someone who is seeking a flexible schedule or to complement their full-time job.
    • Circulating nurses have a crucial role in the surgery setting.
    • For example, circulating nurses may ensure all patient paperwork is completed, such as consent forms.
    • During the procedure, nurses may also document what takes place.
    • They are a patient advocate in that they assure that safety procedures are being met.
    • Circulating nurses may also replenish surgical supplies as needed during the procedure.
    • After the procedure, they may verify instrument count and complete charting and other related duties.
    • Being detail-oriented is also a needed skill for OR nurses.
    • Small mistakes in the operating room can have a big impact on a patient’s condition.
    • Nurses must also be able to handle several things at once.

    For instance, they may need to listen to the surgeon, monitor the patient, and assist with the procedure at the same time.

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
    • Current Georgia Nursing License
    • Current BLS, ACLS
    • Minimum of 2 years experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understand the principles of the aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
    • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors
    • Ability to quickly adapt to the changing condition of the patient when needed
    • Excellent teaching skills
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, and innovation, and be receptive to change
    • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology

    Required Experience

    • ASC experience highly-preferred.

    • 1-2 years of scrub or circulating experience required.

    • Ortho experience highly favored.
