Radiology Technologist
Mountain Empire is a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center recruiting currently for a Full Time Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical staff team. A radiology technicians are skilled in conducting imaging tests such as MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and x-rays. These technicians often specialize in one procedure, but many seek certification in several. We are interested in candidates that have a variety of clinical experiences, to include orthopedic cases.
This technician ensures the patient is in the correct position for testing based on a doctor’s orders. They also ensures that the patient is safely shielded, such as with a lead gown when taking x-rays. Radiology technicians must know how to adjust and align imaging equipment and how to operate it correctly. Some radiology technicians assist doctors in interpreting test results and determining whether additional tests are necessary. They should be proficient and able to execute the following:
1. Perform a variety of technical tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician; adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. 2. Determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment; explain x ray procedures to patients; position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required; report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff. 3. Consult with lead x-ray tech to ensure compliance with established standards of quality. 4. Proficiency with large c-arm and portable x-ray unit.
