JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, is responsible for covering multiple aspects of the business office necessary with a primary focus on Surgical Scheduling. May include insurance verification, patient calls, financial counseling, collections and chart building.
Successful candidate will possess outstanding multitasking abilities, communication and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast-paced working environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule, reschedule and cancel surgeries, including "Add-Ons"
- Communicate with the physicians' offices
- Coordinate cases between physicians, physicians' office staff, anesthesia, lab, and radiology
- Verify insurance coverage information from physician's office is active and loaded in our PAS system
- Calculate and Inform patients of amount due
- Ensure all required forms are placed in designated areas of the patient's chart
- Daily preparation of charts for next day's surgeries within required deadline
- Outbound collection calls to patients regarding their medical invoice/bill
- Answer inbound calls regarding invoice questions and setting up payment plans
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience required
- Communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way
- Use time wisely to meet high-paced demand
- Desire to work and improve the Center as a whole
- Extreme multi-tasker
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
Required Experience
-2 plus years experience in Healthcare
-Math and Computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office products.
