  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary: The Department Manager is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, and facility goals. The Manager identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Department Manager works with Senior Management in meeting Facility goals. The Manager takes patient assignments as needed to meet census demands and fluctuations.

    Required Skills

    Position Requirements:

    • Graduate of professional school of nursing. BSN preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Post-Surgical Unit Management
    • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or management position.
    • Current Texas RN License
    • BLS, ACLS, and PALS
    • Knowledge of TDH, Medicare and Joint Commission rules & regulations.
    • Ability to make independent sound nursing and management decisions.
    • Liaison between staff and administration as needed.

     

    USPI complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
