    POSITION PURPOSE

    Position is responsible for all electrical/electronic related issues including projects, maintenance support, upgrading/maintaining facilities, and equipment as well as leading projects on their own with a focus on safety and productivity. Performs as a team member of various project teams where capital improvements have been identified against specific business issues. Also serves as a coordinator or clearing house of ideas for improvement techniques and implementation strategies

    BASIC FUNCTION: To provide engineering design and support for related electrical components of all equipment and facility processes, capital project management and planning, installation and up-keep of electrical systems or plant systems by performing the following duties.

    PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering.
    • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of GPI technology in safety (CAT III intent), controls, instrumentation, motion (drives), Operator Interface and process control/improvement strategy
    • Learns, applies and maintains process knowledge in printing press designs, gluer safety, and other engineering-related processes and programs. Application of formal Risk Analysis in safety designs.
    • Leads installation, operation, process improvement and strategic maintenance of equipment.
    • Develops motor controls, process logic control systems and schematics
    • Application of NFPA Guidelines including publication 70 (National Electric Code) and ANSI B65
    • Develops project scope of work packages
    • Actively manages, develops and leads all phases of Electrical Capital Projects.
    • Manages and supports electrical project budget development process.
    • Leads specification development of standards for design and purchasing, including RCM requirements such as PM and stringent recommended spare part methodology.

    • Electronic component diagnostics and troubleshooting skills including PLCs, VFD Drives, DCS systems and computer related controls and programming capabilities.

    • Must have good attention to details but be able to manage the big picture and have a “make-the-numbers” mentality.

    • Must be available to travel up to 75%.

    DESIRED BACKGROUND:

    • 5 years of related experience, including 2 years of troubleshooting experience with close support of production equipment.
    • Printing or converting industry experience a plus.
    • Experience with PLC and PC based control systems (AB, Siemens, Rexroth).
    • HMI (Human Machine Interface) development using Wonderware, C-More, AB, Siemens, or similar applications.
    • A strong understanding of industrial communications, AC/DC drives and motors, and servo control.
    • Project management and leadership skills.
    • Technical training at various levels of the organization.
    • Excellent team skills - as team member and trainer and developer.
    • Understanding of National Electric Code (NEC).
    • Demonstrated mechanical ability.

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

    • General hours of work are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST). Overtime is frequently required including availability on the weekends to answer calls.
    • Must be able to travel long distances by car and plane.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and verbally respond. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Employee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protecting when walking in the manufacturing area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and extreme heat. The noise level in the immediate work environment is normally quiet, however requires exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment.

    Requirements: Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Mininum Experience: 2 Years

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Monitor and assesses the physical/psychological status of the patient through personal observation and interaction during pre-op, intra-op and post-operative phases of the surgical event (according to the daily assignment).

    • Assesses and responds to the individual, psychosocial and spiritual needs of the patients and significant others. Acts as patient advocate in the coordination of patient care.

    • Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic measures such as lab tests, radiology exams, EKG’s, etc.

    • Identifies goals for the individual patients and communicates these goals to others involved in the patient’s care

    • Utilizing professional nursing judgment, takes action to implement the nursing care plan and resolve the problem identified for the individual patient.

    • Utilizing supplies, equipment and resources to contain costs without compromising delivery of care

    • Reduces chance of nosocomial infection by directing attention to infection control and environmental safety practices

    • Reports and documents information accurately and in a timely manner

    • Communicates a positive and caring attitude towards patient, peers, staff and all other contacts

    • Seeks guidance, direction and assistance where needed. Follows Center’s Policy and Procedure at all times and is an active participant in the QI program.

    • Maintains confidentiality, privacy and security of all patients and the Center’s communication and documents

    • Gains knowledge of all equipment and supplies and is familiar with their location, especially emergency supplies and equipment. Participates in staff meetings and in services (mandatory and regular)

    • Demonstrates flexibility in patient care, assignment, schedule and needs of the Center

    • Supervises employees with less qualifications and delegates duties to the according to qualifications, skills, education and competency

    • Maintains a clean, pleasant and safe environment for self and others employees and patients and visitors

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Assumes responsibilities of the Nurse Manager in her absence as delegated.
