St. Thomas Surgery Center Midtown , is seeking a motivated Pre-op PACU to join our team. St. Thomas Surgery Center Midtown is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

Job Description and Duties:

Provides direct patient care by assisting patients with changing linens, ambulation, and transport. Maintains a clean and orderly patient care environment. Assists during patient examinations and procedures. Obtains and records patient vital signs, provides nutritional intake and reports results and observations. Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiently providing surgical and/or procedural services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

Qualifications:

· Qualifications require an RN License

· ACLS/PALS/BLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment but preferred on hire.

Required Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current Tennessee Nursing License
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Pre-Op. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Excellent teaching skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
• Strong customer service skills
• Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
• Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
