  • Responsibilities

    Desert Ridge Surgery Center, a free-standing ambulatory surgery center located in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced endoscopy technician.

    Essential Functions

    • Under the direct supervision of an RN
    • Must set-up and prepare for cases by assembling all supplies and equipment needed for procedures
    • Assists Physicians on all procedures
    • Demonstrates clinical competency in endoscopy department
    • Utilizes equipment according manufacturer’s recommendations and facility policies and procedures
    • Instrument and scope cleaning post-procedure
    • Maintains scopes and accessories according to facility standards and policies and procedures
    • Demonstrates good judgement and reasoning when investigating and solving problems
    • Demonstrates excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills
    • Provides and maintains an organized field and physical environment following infection control guidelines and policies and procedures.
    • Works well with supervisor and all others in positions of authority
    • Promotes a high degree of cooperation, communication and coordination with other employees and physicians

    Skills and Requirements

    • Minimum of one year of recent experience in endoscopy department
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Education and/or Experience

    • High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Program preferable.
    • One year experience as a Endoscopy Scrub Tech or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.
