    POSITION PURPOSE

    • The person who occupies this position should be able to work in a fast pace environment. They are as well responsible for preparing and running the cutting machine as efficiently as possible while overseeing the quality of products processed.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS

    The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job.  The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the company are dynamic.  The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.

    1. Responsible for press make ready: adjust press to accommodate for new product sheets being cut (set feeder, lock up die, set stripper, blanker, and delivery).
    2. Inspect quality of each load run: responsible for checking random sheets from each cut load to ensure for quality.
    3. When cutting problems are encountered, Pressman is to flag and isolate poorly produced materials (all defective loads are to be tagged). Pressman is to make proper corrections before continuing the order.
    4. Remove cut loads from press by use of handtruck.
    5. Maintain written records of production. Records of waste, production time, waiting time etc...are to be kept.
    6. Responsible for running press as efficiently as possible.
    7. Perform score bend readings.

     

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Physical and visual activities that are commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job:
      • Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing (die into press, loaded pallets with handtruck), stooping (to make press adjustments), reaching, handling (pulling samples), visual acuity (near).
    • Physical demands commonly associated* with the performance of the functions of this job:
      • Function 1 requires assisting Operator or Lead with loading dies (weighing approx. 150 lbs.) into cutting press
      • Function 2 requires stooping under press to place new pallet and to make necessary press adjustments.
      • Function 3 requires pulling full skid of cut stock (weighing 1500 to 2000 lbs.) from press with handtruck.
      • Also requires ability to lift empty pallets (weighing 25 - 40 lbs.) from stack of pallets (typ. 5 ft. high) and placing at end of press.
    • Inside Conditions, extremes of heat (seasonal), humidity, noise, hazards, dust.
    • Use of Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software:
      • Bobst Cutting Press, electric handtruck, and company provided tooling.
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • Working knowledge of cutting press. Mechanical aptitude.
    • Must have experience running Bobst and Die Cutting Equipment.
    • Stockbooster experience preferred.
    • Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends when needed.

  • Qualifications
    • State certified  EMS 1st responder preferred
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Valid Class E Missouri drivers license or resident state equivalent
    • Must pass a background check.
    • State POST certified or related certification.
    • Armed shooter firearms training and qualification.
    • Law Enforcement tactical training.

    COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
