Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional nursing care in the PreOp and PACU areas.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including assessing vital signs and reviewing medical histories.
• Monitor patients’ recovery from anesthesia, manage pain, and address any postoperative complications.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about postoperative care and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Required Skills

• Current RN license in VA.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PreOp and/or PACU nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Longevity in past roles.

Required Experience

• Valid RN license in the state of Tennessee.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in preoperative and post-anesthesia care is ideal, but willing to train new nurses with a strong work ethic.
• Advanced IV skills is ideal and proficiency in patient assessment and monitoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
