    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provides 24/7 Liquid/Water Fuel Maintenance support and operations at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.
    • Performs fuel hydrant system, maintenance, and repairs and technical orders. 
    • Illustrates proficiency and familiarization of hydrant system, loop outlets, isolation pits, low points, and documentation needed in daily operations.
    • Maintains positive control of Consolidated Tool Kit (CTK).
    • Solves complex maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics to analyze, isolate, and troubleshoot system malfunctions.
    • Operates aircraft hydrant refueling systems.
    • Monitors systems operation to ensure efficiency and compliance with local, federal, and DoD regulations.
    • Performs inspections and recurring maintenance on fuels hydrant systems.
    • Inspects and diagnoses malfunctions in mechanical and electrical system controls and components using technical orders, manufactures' handbooks, procedures, code, and directives.
    • Inspects condition and operation of electrical components such as motors, disconnect switches, contacts, solenoids, relays, alarms, cathodic protection systems, and programmable logic controls.
    • Ensures applicable technical orders, checklists, and forms are maintained in accordance with Fuels Operating Instruction (FOI).
    • Safely operates standard/specialized vehicles and equipment to perform routine maintenance tasks.
    • Communicates with Field Management Team, Civil Engineers, Contracting Officer Representative (COR), and other government agencies and representatives, as necessary.

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

    • Must have a High School Diploma or 4 years of equivalent experience.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of documented experience working in an aircraft fuels services support environment is required.
    • Previous military experience operating in a contingency environment is strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience working with government contracts is desired.

     

    LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Possess Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 3E4X1 or equivalent (LFM) qualifications and certifications.
    • Must be able to pass an airfield driver's test and obtain a restricted area badging.
    • Must have valid U.S. Driver's License and be able to operate a vehicle with a manual transmission.
    • Must be Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPPER) certified and maintain certification throughout the period of employment.

     

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Must possess technical expertise and knowledge to fuel and service aircraft.
    • Must have strong verbal and writing skills; familiarization with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point.

     

     

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Position will work on, and adjacent to, active flight line operations and may be exposed to hazardous noise/materials.  Must wear Personal Protective Equipment including hearing protection.
    • Position may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment; up to 50 pounds.
    • Candidates must be physically able and willing to work long hours to meet mission and contract requirements.

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: 

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U.S. Passport.  
    • Must have a DoD Secret Security clearance.
    • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, and background checks, etc.
