  • Responsibilities

    Job Summary : The MA is responsible for greeting patients and delivering exceptional customer service assistance. This entails answering calls and fielding them accordingly, addressing patient questions and needs, and providing an overall welcoming environment. This person also performs ad hoc administrative duties as needed.

    Reporting relationship: directly to – Clinical Manager / Director; indirectly to – Business Office Manager (BOM) and Administrator

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    · Managing procedure room(s) to ensure the rooms are prepped and ready for patients, including room turnovers, stocking supplies, cleaning, etc.

    · Managing patient flow to/from procedure room(s), and assists with patient positioning for procedures

    · Demonstrates the primary goal of efficiency, while providing services that exceed customer expectations, and improving clinical and financial operations

    · Assists with patient care within the MA scope of practice

    · Pulls case materials and stages in appropriate areas

    · Understands principles of aseptic sterile technique and their implementation

    · Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards

    · Ability to adapt to change quickly

    · Assists with MA duties at other affiliated centers in Portland, if needed

    Job Qualifications :

    · Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program

    · Certification as a Medical Assistant

    · One (1) year previous clinical experience

    · Basic Life Support (BLS)

    · Self-motivated, flexible, and able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment, with the ability to problem solve with minimal direction or guidance

    · Proven history as a team player

    · Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

    · Experience in providing exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, and team

    · Full range of physical mobility (position requires sustained standing, stooping, lifting as much as 75 lbs., carrying, repetitive motions, reading, sitting, etc.)

    · Prefer experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)

    · Prefer experience with medical software programs such as Advantx, Amkai, or Epic

    · Efficient use of resources

    · Willingness to maintain a clean, organized environment

    · Consistent, reliable attendance

    · Reliable means of transportation

    · May provide help to other Portland area USPI facilities if required
