    PRE ADMISSIONS NURSE - FULL-TIME

     

    ABOUT THE JOB United Pacific Surgery Center is looking for an Preadmissions Nurse. The Preadmission Nurse (PAT)  has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. PAT RN will assume the following PAT responsibilities:  contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching.  The PAT nurse will schedule patients for and perform collection of their pre-operative COVID 19 testing and ensure that results are received and placed in the patient record prior to the procedure.  The PAT RN will ensure that patient records are completed in a timely manner in advance of the scheduled procedure time. The PAT will communicate directly with the Pre-op Registered Nurses and members of the anesthesia team as needed upon identification of high risk results which may have an impact to the patient's episode of care in the center.

    Required Skills

    • Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing
    • Preferred 2 year experience in a hospital or surgery center setting
    • Ability to recognize, evaluates, solve problems and correct errors.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
    • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
    • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
    • Excellent teaching skills *
    • Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS

    Required Experience

    United Pacific Surgery Center complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law
