Physical Therapy Assistant Surgical Institute of Reading
The Physical Therapist Assistant implements established physical therapy plans of care and provides physical therapy treatments to patients in order to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Required Skills
The Physical Therapist Assistant must be licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in Pennsylvania.
He/she must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program certified by the American Physical Therapy Association.
He/she must be able to practice Physical Therapy per state guidelines.
Demonstrates ability to stand and/or walk for five hours per day.
Demonstrates ability to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis.
Demonstrates ability to push/pull over 25 pounds on a regular basis.
Current BLS Certification preferred
