    USPI FOUNDATION SURGICAL HOSPITAL OF SAN ANTONIO is seeking a motivated Surgical Tech to join our team. Foundation Surgical Hospital of San Antonio the preferred facility for surgery in San Antonio. We boast state-of-the-art technology, the top surgeons and healthcare staff in our community.     JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct and indirect services to the surgical patient under the supervision of the professional nurse and performs tasks as necessary for the efficient and effective functioning of the operating room, as well as the delivery of quality of care. Monitors par level of surgical supplies. Maintains the proper functioning of surgical instruments. Cleans and sterilizes all surgical instruments.

    The staffing of the hospital is based on a teamwork concept. Employees may be cross-trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change.

    Required Skills

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
    • Additional languages preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal skills.

    SKILLS:

    • Basic computer knowledge.
    • Care and handling of surgical instruments
    • Aseptic technique
    • Principles of Standard Precautions
    • Principles of decontamination and sterilization

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • A list of physical demands of position, including vision, hearing, repetitive motion and environment, is available on request.

    Required Experience

    • Graduate of a formal accredited surgical technician-training program.
    • Certified in surgical technology preferred (CST or CORT).
    • Minimum 1 year experience.
    • BLS
  • Qualifications
