    Job Summary:

    Medical Assistant needed for busy GI Lab. This position report to the Clinical Manager. Assisting with vital signs and taking patient history in Pre-op while working alongside RN. The candidate will also float to PACU where he/she will assist the RN with the care of post-anesthesia patients including: vital signs, IV management, discharge criteria and discharging patients via wheelchair. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and the position requires being able to stand most of the day.

    Hired candidate will have assessments at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days with the Clinical Manager to assess performance and address any problem areas or questions. This assessment period allows for the newly hired team member to identify any areas where more information/guidance are needed.

    Required Skills

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Must have BLS from the American Hearth Association and/or able to get it within 30 days of hired.
    • Vital signs and monitoring pre-op and PACU patients and reporting to RN.
    • Must be a Team player and have the ability to interact in a professional manner with staff and physicians.
    • Ability to instruct patients prior to and after procedures.
    • Knowledge of GI anatomy is a preferred.
