ABOUT THE JOB

El Mirador Surgery Center is and Ambulatory multi-specialty Surgical Center located in Palm Springs .  We are looking for an experienced and capable Pre- Admissions LVN. The Pre Admissions LVN is responsible for assuring that all patient charts are complete 3-5 days prior to their scheduled surgery/procedure.  This includes obtaining pre-op clearance documentation, physician's orders and ensuring the proper consent is on file. Other duties include, but not limited to generating Center forms as needed from ScanChart system, Pre/Post OP calls to patients to ascertain their medical status and provide any needed guidance or information as well as assisting in Pre-OP and PACU as needed. Must be able to communicate professionally with both physician offices as well as patients and their families.

Required Skills

• Graduate of an accredited school/college
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, center staff, physicians, vendors and the public.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer skills and high comfort level with EMR systems and translator phone systems
• Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
• Ability to care for patients from 12 years old to geriatrics
• Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
• Strong empathetic personality 
• Able to work independently while maintaining a high spirit of teamwork
• Bi-lingual Vietnamese/English and/or Spanish/English strongly preferred

Required Experience

El Mirador Surgery Center complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.  If you are offered this position and must be vaccinated under any applicable law, you will be required to show proof of full vaccination or obtain an approval of a religious or medical exemption prior to your start date.  If you receive an exemption from the vaccination requirement, you will be required to submit to regular testing in accordance with the law.
