    TASK AND JOB LOCATION: 

     

    PROVIDING VEHICLE MANAGEMENT, MAINTENANCE, MATERIAL CONTROL, AND GROUND TRANSPORTATION (VMMMC) AT BAGRAM AND KANDAHAR AIR FIELD, AFGHANISTAN

     

    THIS IS A PROPOSAL POSITION (CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD).

     

    GROUND TRANSPORTATION CONTROL CENTER SUPERVISOR  

     

    SUMMARY:

    Manages day to day operations of dispatch operations, taxi operations, aircrew support, passenger & cargo support, recovery service, tractor/trailer and MHE service, and Distinguished Visitors service.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

     

    • Manage a USAF Base ground transportation, vehicle maintenance and cargo handling (pickup and delivery) organization
    • Ensure all GTCC services and assets are used IAW AFI 24-301 and official use guidelines
    • Approve UDI requests that exceed 72 hours and any out of ordinary requests
    • Must be able to develop policies and procedures to ensure the Ground Transportation functions can be accomplished through efficient use of equipment and resources, maintaining safe and serviceable vehicles.
    • Develop training methods and classes for instruction of Contractor personnel. May be required to present and prepare executive level reports and presentations.
    • May work irregular shifts to support surge operations during inclement weather or deployment operations. Develop training methods and classes for instruction of alternate Contractor personnel.
    • Managing vehicle maintenance services for gasoline or diesel engines and related vehicle systems such as electrical, air conditioning, braking, and Refueling Maintenance Pumping Systems.
    • Coordinate with installation protocol officer to plan and organize support requirements for special events and distinguished visitors
    • Checks accuracy of daily schedule of events

    Experienced in the management of USAF ground transportation operations to include; dispatch operations, taxi operations, aircrew support, passenger & cargo support, recovery service, tractor/trailer and MHE service, and Distinguished Visitors service.

     

    LEVEL OF SUPERVISION: Automotive Mechanic’s, Crane/Heavy Equipment Mechanic’s, Crane Operators, Riggers, Dispatchers, Licensing Examiners, Maintenance Controls, Buyers and Laborers.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

     

    High school diploma is required with seven (7) Years Transportation and vehicle Maintenance/Operations experience. Four (4) years in a supervisory role

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: MUST HAVE AND MAINTAIN A DOD SECRET CLEARANCE.

     

    THE POSITION REQUIRES THAT THE APPLICANT MEET THE MINIMUM STANDARD MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS.

    • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
    • AART Registered and CPR Current.
    • Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
    • Must possess independent decision making skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
    • Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
    • Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
