    The RN Clinical Educator educates staff to competence according to standards, regulations, and best practice using a variety of teaching methods. Facilitates achievement of staff role clarity, professional role confidence, and proficiency. Operates as a change agent in the practice and learning environment.

    • Nursing and education theory knowledge
    • Refined written and verbal communication
    • Current knowledge of trends in nursing practice
    • Competence in clinical skills of ambulatory care
    • Ability to independently plan, organize, develop, implement, and evaluate educational tools
    • Customer service skills utilizing AIDET model and conflict resolution skills
    • Computer skills such as Windows applications and Allscripts
    • Familiar with various teaching methods and audiovisual equipment
    • Ability to operate independently to carry out assignments
    • Works as a BLS instructor
    • With consideration to age, employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patient/significant-other when administering care

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • M.S.N. Degree preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in direct nursing care in the Ambulatory Care Setting
    • Current and unrestricted RN state licensure
    • Current CPR card issued by American Heart Association
    • Experience in education and/or demonstrated relevant education and clinical expertise in providing education to adult learners (preferred)
    • LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (Good Samaritan only)
