    Job Description

    The Social Media Specialist is responsible for crafting social media programs for one of Unitek’s institutions: Unitek College, Provo College, Eagle Gate College, Brookline College, or Unitek EMT. This position will monitor social media while informing, engaging, and building relationships with stakeholders—students, alumni, staff, and the public—to boost Unitek’s brand and social media presence. The social media specialist will collaborate with fellow specialists to produce compelling content that appeals to audiences across different social media channels.

    • Works to expand Unitek’s social media base and foster a sense of community by creating engaging content to foster meaningful interactions on major social media platforms.
    • Creates content to enable/improve Unitek’s social media presence by crafting and executing tailored social media presence for the designated college, working in tandem with social media platforms and marketing teams.
    • Generate and gather compelling multimedia content for various platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, utilizing editing tools like CapCut.
    • Administer the presentation of social media profiles, ensuring the visual and graphic design aligns with each college's identity while upholding overall brand consistency.
    • Propel our messaging further by exploring creative methods to enhance our presence and value on social media channels.
    • Ensure all communications maintain a consistent brand voice, tone, and personality, providing a uniform brand experience across all digital touchpoints.
    • Coordinate with the marketing team to plan and oversee social media content calendars and campaigns, aligning with broader marketing objectives.
    • Take charge of social media tools to maintain and update page content, handle, and respond to interactions, schedule and publish content, and track social media performance metrics.
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders and manage outside agencies to ensure best practices and results are met.
    • Create social media best practice’s that can be shared with local campus staff and ambassadors to help curate and share local content.
    • Some travel is required to attend local events and visit campuses.
    • Attend and assist in promoting campus events through appropriate social media tactics.

    Pay starting at $24/hr

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS/BA from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Marketing.
    • Two or more years of proven work experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role.
    • Expert in native social app usage and management of platforms like Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc.
    • Proficiency in social media tools like CapCut and Sprout Social.
    • Good understanding of social media KPIs, tracking and reporting.
    • Excellent multitasking skills and a critical thinker with problem-solving skills.
    • Extremely organized and detail-oriented with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with each brand to define the social media strategy.
